The Social Dimension of Freemasonry
The central interest of Freemasonry is not limited only to the Individual as a unit, but it also is extended- with the same ardour - to society, because there exists the field where ideas circulate and initiatives are materialized. There is the place where values are developed and the power of the spirit is put to the test. It is the place where Culture and Civilization are developed. Only the action and interaction of cultures and values can bring the unity that is needed by individuals and society.
Freemasonry, as a producer and conserver of ideals, wherever and whenever present, creates conditions of intellectual enlargement and moral uplift, influencing dynamically the development of intellectual and moral life. While historically and practically it tends to become synonymous with solidarity and social cohesion, aspiring, in the light of Freedom, to a worldwide peaceful community, conditioned by the most powerful bonds of Unity and Brotherhood.
